Dear Young Associates,

The YA were formed in 1993 to support the Asper School of Business and to provide the same network for ideas, experience and education offered by the Associates but catered to meet the needs of the younger business community. Since the beginning, we have provided unwavering support to the students, the school and fellow YA and we continue to do so in these uncertain times. I am proud to say that as an organization we have an active and engaged membership/organization. Together, we will navigate through this crisis and I am sure we will all be stronger for it.

My experience with the Young Associates dates back to 2008 when I was a student at the Asper School and part of the Commerce Students’ Association (CSA). In all those years we have faced many challenges but nothing like what we face now. While this current situation is unprecedented, our board and members remain more committed than ever to be young leaders supporting business education and to supporting young leaders’ professional development.

These unprecedented times are making us look at ways to deal with the impact, learn from it and utilize the modern tools at our disposal to test and illustrate our flexibility and resilience.

Our board and committees are discussing ways in which we can support students and fellow YA and keep our momentum going. As an organization, we are already adapting to our new realities of the YA. With so many of us already working from remote platforms, we are reviewing ways to utilize a variety of these platforms to provide you with convenient, reliable and interactive resources. Expect some webinars that will be most relevant to our membership in the weeks ahead as we all work our way through this crisis. I am so proud of the passion and leadership demonstrated by our board and committees in ensuring that we provide the best virtual opportunities.

Let’s keep connecting. We look forward to your thoughts, comments and ideas. Stay safe and please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Most Sincerely,
