Ash Modha of Mondetta Clothing to Receive Inaugural IGNITE Award

The Young Associates invite students to IGNITE connections and inspiration at new event September 8th

Winnipeg, MB – The Young Associates (“The YA”), part of the University of Manitoba Business School Foundation, are pleased to announce the launch of a new event that will bring new Asper School of Business (“Asper”) students together with leaders from the business community and the University of Manitoba (“U of M”).

The event will be held on Thursday, September 8th 2022 at the RBC Convention Centre.

The YA will also present the IGNITE Award for the first time at the event to Ash Modha, President & CEO, Mondetta Clothing. The award honours an accomplished local Thought Leader who has directly through business, professional, and/or community endeavors made an outstanding impact in Manitoba.

“The IGNITE Award recognizes those who not only forge ahead, but also look back to ensure those who come after them will find their own successful paths,” said Josh Zaporzan, Chair of the Young Associates Board of Directors. “Ash exemplifies this by giving so much of his time to the community and to the Asper school. We are so excited to hear more about his journey at the event.”

“I’m very honoured to be the first to receive this award,” said Modha. “I used to be a U of M student just like those who will be in attendance at the event. Mondetta’s growth and success is thanks in part to the support of our strong Manitoba business community. It’s so exciting to be part of an event that celebrates that.”

Each year, new Asper students are invited to the event to attend for free. Because the past two years have been remote learning, new students from the last three years will be invited to the inaugural event.

“I’d like to thank the Young Associates for establishing this event as a way to welcome new-to-Asper students to the business community,” said Dr. Bruno Silvestre, Dean of the I.H. Asper School of Business. “This is a great opportunity for students to connect with student leaders, faculty and the business community – all while celebrating a Manitoba business success story.”
